Anna University Issues  Deadline for Affiliation Submissions

In a crucial development for educational institutions, Anna University has announced the opening of its
Affiliation Monitoring System for the academic year 2025-26. Colleges are required to submit detailed information through the online portal by 31st January 2025 (Friday), 5:00 PM, without a late fee. Institutions that miss this deadline can submit until
7th February 2025 (Friday), 5:00 PM, by paying a penalty of ₹50,000.

However, missing this final deadline will result in no grant of affiliation for the academic year 2025-26—a stark warning from the university.

Key Requirements and Compliance Norms

Anna University has laid down stringent guidelines to ensure academic and operational excellence across affiliated institutions. Here are the major highlights:

Faculty Information

  • Existing faculty must update details using Aadhaar-authenticated biometric systems.
  • New faculty details must also be submitted and verified through biometric authentication via TNEGA and UIDAI.
  • AICTE Faculty IDs are mandatory for all faculty members, along with verification of PAN and Aadhaar documents.

NIRF Rankings and Expenditure Details

  • Colleges must upload their NIRF ranking certificates for Engineering, Architecture, and Management programs in the designated online section.
  • Institutions are also required to furnish annual expenditure details for the last three years.

Student Data

  • Submit student enrollment details for the past academic years:
    • 4 years for BE/B.Tech programs.
    • 5 years for B.Arch programs.
    • 2 years for postgraduate programs like ME/M.Tech/MBA/MCA/M.Arch.

Laboratory Standards

  • All laboratory equipment must be in working condition and ready for demonstration.
  • Laboratories should comply with the university’s official requirements outlined

PG Program Faculty

  • Institutions offering PG programs must have at least one Professor or Associate Professor with a Ph.D. in the relevant discipline.

Submission Protocols and Deadlines

Colleges must adhere to the following submission guidelines:

  • Reports: Maintain both soft and hard copies of the consolidated report and summary sheet. The summary sheet must be signed by the Principal and Chairperson of the college.
  • Payment of Fees: Inspection fees must be paid via RTGS/NEFT, and the transaction details must be submitted in the prescribed format available on the university’s website.
  • Hard Copy Submission:
    • Colleges under regional centres must submit the hard copy of the summary sheet and payment receipt to the respective regional centres.
    • Institutions in the Chennai region must submit the documents to the Director, Centre for Affiliation of Institutions, Anna University, Chennai.

Affidavit Requirement

Institutions are required to submit an affidavit sworn by the Chairperson or Secretary of the Trust/Society. The affidavit must state that all submitted details are accurate, sworn on Rs. 100 Non-Judicial Stamp Paper, and attested by a Judicial Magistrate, Notary, or Oath Commissioner.

Strict Consequences for Non-Compliance

Anna University has made it clear that institutions failing to meet the stipulated requirements or deadlines will face:

  • Suspension or withdrawal of programs.
  • No affiliation for the academic year 2025-26.

Final Deadlines to Remember

  • Without Late Fee: 31st January 2025 (Friday), 5:00 PM.
  • With Late Fee (₹50,000): 7th February 2025 (Friday), 5:00 PM.

Colleges are urged to act promptly to avoid Cancelling their affiliation status for the upcoming academic year.
